Wealthy Affiliate Hosting Review – How Bad Is It?

I've been a member of Wealthy Affiliate for 5 years now and I have 20 websites hosted at Wealthy Affiliate.

So I feel that I am uniquely qualified to share my experience with Wealthy Affiliate Hosting.

At the time of this writing, Wealthy Affiliate is making some significant upgrades to their hosting and is planning to introduce  a stand alone Managed WordPress Hosting BRAND in the summer of 2023.

While this is good news, it is changing the Wealthy Affiliate hosting plan for new members.

However, any Wealthy Affiliate members who were premium members before March 16, 2020 will be grandfathered into the old plan and will still have access to host 25 websites and 25 domains on their Wealthy Affiliate Hosting account.

That is absolutely ridiculous value!

Wealthy Affiliate members who become premium members after March 16, 2020 will be limited to 10 websites in their Wealthy Affiliate Hosting account.

This is still incredible value!

What I Like

What I like most about Wealthy Affiliate Hosting is that it is all inclusive. Everything is managed for you, behind the scenes so that you do not have to worry about it.

Let me explain.

I have websites hosted at Bluehost and WPX Hosting right now.

With those sites, I have to take care of security with a plugin(I currently use Wordfence), but bloated plugins can slow down your site.

I also have to worry about SSL. If you have ever tried to install SSL at Bluehost, you know what I mean.

Total pain in the ass.

But at Wealthy Affiliate, you just flip a switch and it is done.

Even installing WordPress is done for you at Wealthy Affiliate. At other hosting companies, you have to install WordPress yourself!

I also like Site Support at Wealthy Affiliate Hosting. I have had several interactions with Site Support and the experiences were always excellent.

I cannot say the say thing about Bluehost. Every support interaction I have ever had at Bluehost has led to frustration.

Another thing that I really like about Wealthy Affiliate Hosting is the Site Comments platform.

Getting engagement on your website is very important for your readers and also for showing Google that you are a player in your niche.

But it is very difficult for new websites to get engagement.

Site Comments solves that problem.

I also think that the user interface is one of the best in the hosting business.

Everything is right in front of you and very easy to access.

Websites, domains, email addresses are all accessible from one menu.

From there you simply click on details for any of your websites and all of the information that you need about that website is on the page.

Very user friendly.

The thing that I like the most about Wealthy Affiliate Hosting is the way that they continue to innovate and improve.

They are never happy with the status quo and so they continually strive to provide a better a product and service. 

One of the qualities of every successful business is to constantly add value, and that is what Wealthy Affiliate Hosting does very well.

Let's take a look at what I don't like.

What I Don't Like

I don't like the fact that you don't have cPanel access.

cPanel is how you access the files directly that are on your server.

If you are new to building websites, this probably won't affect you, but there are some things that you can do in cPanel that you can't do elsewhere.

I will say this, I have had instances where I wanted to do something in cPanel and I have contacted Site Support.

Site Support has done those things for me!

I still wish that I had access to cPanel.

I think that if Wealthy Affiliate Hosting is going to be a standalone brand, they are going to have to provide cPanel access or they are going to eliminate a lot of experienced website owners from their customer base.

When I first signed up for Wealthy Affiliate Hosting, I didn't expect it to be very good.

There was this impression that if there was so much provided for a low cost. it couldn't be very good.

I have since learned that the value is incredible.

With their continued commitment to adding value and creating the best managed WordPress hosting, I think that they will be a big player in this market.
